RCDAS takes in between 30,000 and 40,000 animals each year, and we prioritize spay and neuter surgery for shelter pets first. We are working to grow our veterinary teams at each of our shelters, and we partner with the Board of Supervisors and contract cities to offer limited spay and neuter services to the public through mobile spay and neuter events. Appointments can only be made through a QR code on the event flyer, which is distributed by the District Supervisor or contract city organizing the event.
At this time, we do not make appointments by email or phone, and dates/locations are subject to change based on staffing availability. To find events specific to your area, go to https://rivco.org/board-supervisors to find what district you are located in. Then follow your District Supervisor on their social media pages and sign up for their newsletters. You can also check if your city has events by following them on social media and signing up for their newsletters. Please note, if you click a QR on an event flyer and the page shows "No appointments available at this time," then the event is full.
