Razz Berry Adopted

Cap'n Crunch Cereal Box doggy gets her second chance ...

Below is a link to a short video featuring this morning’s “lottery” for Razz Berry, the 9-week-old maltese-yorkie mix that came to us by way of a unique “pet carrier” – a Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries cereal box.

The family that pulled out the highest number – 92 – saw the story about Razz Berry on the news on the same day their beloved 12-year-old Puggle, Ginger, died. The lottery took place at about 11:15 a.m. at the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley.

We wanted to ensure all interested parties had the opportunity to participate in the lottery. It just so happens I captured a short clip of Teresa Sheets as she pulled the winning chip. (I apologize in advance that I captured the footage in vertical mode, as opposed to the preferred landscape angle; however, I was cuddling Razz Berry, so, ahem, I was multi-tasking.)

Thank you to all the news media for the interest in this story. The good news is that a few of this morning’s “non winners” adopted other pets at our shelter. So it was a win-win for the fourt-leggers here in Riverside County.

The Sheets family will pick up Razz Berry next week after she has her spay surgery.
