The Coachella Valley City/County Animal Shelter provides complete animal services for the unincorporated areas of Riverside County. It provides shelter and adoption services for Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.
Riverside County Animal Services provides field services for county areas and the above cities, except Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. Those cities provide its own animal-control officers.

The Animal Samaritans low-cost veterinary clinic is located next door to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus. Animal Samaritans' adoption center is still at its Ramon Road location at 72307 Ramon Road, Thousand Palms, Calif.
