Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - The Department of Animal Services is experiencing disruptions to our telephone and internet services, impacting all of our County shelter facilities. On the morning of Tuesday September 9, fiber optic cables were severed during construction on the Clay Street Grade Separation Project, across the street from the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter. This has greatly impacted the Department of Animal Services’ call center and internet capabilities. Public with animal related emergencies need to contact the Department through the main line of our Coachella Valley Animal Campus at (760) 343-3644. The phone and internet services are expected to be repaired by Friday, September 12th. We will strive to maintain an optimum level of service to our communities, however, be aware that this unfortunate incident may increase wait times and dropped calls coming through our call center. We will send out updates in the event the situation changes. Thank you for your understanding.
