Week 1: Animals at Work July 9 - 13, 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon
Do you have pets? Do you take care of them? Or do they take care of you or others? Guide dogs for the blind, rescue dogs, burros, police dogs all take care of us. Owls take care of us by controlling the rodent population. Some animals take care of other animals – herding sheep or ducks, and llamas standing guard over pastured animals. Come and meet animals who work, including a barn owl and a great horned owl, working dogs, and many other animal helpers!
Week 2: Fast & Furious; Slinky and Slow July 16 - 20, 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon
What do you think of animals that are fast and slow? A tortoise and a hare? Or an anteater and an armadillo? Some animals rely on speed for their survival, while others survive by just slowly plodding along. A few of the nature’s speedy and slow, but steady, critters spot- lighted this week include a honey bear, fennec fox, an anteater, and an armadillo.
