The Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter is located at 6851 Van Buren Blvd., Jurupa Valley, 92509. (One very important note for visitors of this shelter that day: the main shelter also runs a vaccination & microchip clinic on the third Saturday of each month; these clinics – running 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – are extremely popular and that means parking will be challenging that morning. We are offering our apologies in advance; visitors will likely have to use our overflow area, a dirt lot adjacent to the shelter.
One additional note: Arriving hours earlier than the shelter opening to stand in line outside the shelter does not equate to adoption of a specific pet. If two people happen to be at the shelter at about the same time, and they are both interested in the same pet – and both qualify as adopters – a special drawing will be held, giving both people the same chance for the pet.
“Last year’s success resulted in more than 8,200 animals finding forever homes locally and we’re thrilled to continue the effort to help many more homeless animals,” said NBC4 President and General Manager Steve Carlston. “NBC4 is proud to help make such an impact for this important cause.”
