Coyote Pup Impounded

May 31, 2017

Riverside County Animal Services officer Will Luna responded to a property in Jurupa Valley today after the resident contacted us about a possible injured coyote pup.

The property owner said the pup might be injured or stuck inside some bushes because it was not moving. The property was located in the 7100 block of Ridgeline Drive in city of Jurupa Valley.

Officer Luna crawled and squirmed his way toward the pup because it was so far deep into the bushes. He said it’s possible the mother abandoned the pup but he said he did not believe the animal suffered any injuries. Due to its age (approximately 2 months old), he impounded the animal. He brought the animal to the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley and Officer Tiffany Fuller transported the pup to one of our wildlife rehabilitation rescue partners (Sunshine Haven) just a few minutes ago.
