California law requires that all adopted dogs and cats be spayed or neutered before leaving our animal shelters.
The pets featured on our Adoptable Pets web page are available for adoption on a first come first served basis. However, if more than one party present is interested in the same animal, a raffle will be conducted among approved parties to determine who will be granted the adoption.
We do not guarantee that pets seen on our web page will be available to adopt when you arrive at the animal shelter. The Riverside County Department of Animal Services does not reserve pets for adoption by telephone or e-mail. You must come to the shelter to adopt an animal and refer to the pets Animal Identification Number (AID). Please bring a leash or carrier with you if you intend to adopt a pet.
Our adoptions fees are outlined in the table below. This includes the animal's spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations. A dog license is required by state law and will need to be purchased at the time of adoption for all residents located within our jurisdiction. See a list of licensing fees for your area.
